planets for elementary students
Why does the American elementary educational system suck so badly?

I heard a teacher complaining about how they couldn’t get a student to form their characters properly and that they believe the child is retarded. Haven’t they heard of Tactiles? A proven method in just about every other country on the planet. Why is it this one that must label their child dyslexic because they can’t get the S right? I think the educational system should be put into the GIRFAC program otherwise known as “Getting It Right for a Change”.
For those who read the question improperly, I did not blame teachers. I pointed out the problem with the mindset of the teacher which stemmed directly from the propblems in the system of education. The system is what needs an overhaul. Everyone else falls in line.

I think it sucks as you say because politicians, who know little about education other than that they had one, get involoved. I also think that the majority of our students are far too distracted with all the crap that mom and dad buys them to pay attention. I further believe that it is much easier for mom and dad to sit jr. in front of a t.v. or game system at the end of the day than it is for them to help the child learn something. I think that daycares suck! Because they do little else and the state funded pre-schools are really free daycares that parents love because they get a free year out of it. I think that this is the reason that teachers come up with these ideas (diagnosis of dyslexia) so that the student can get the extra help he should have had at home by being in the special kids class. Besides that , primary school teachers would rather send that kid off for some one else to deal with so that they can concentrate on the 20 other kids in the room who are not behind.
